Position: Chief Operating Officer (COO) – Field-Based Services Operating Platform
Location: South Florida (Onsite with travel across operating companies)
Compensation: Low-to-Mid $200Ks Base + 25–30% Bonus + Meaningful Equity Participation
About the Opportunity:
We are seeking a platform level Chief Operating Officer (COO) to help lead a rapidly scaling, multi-site services platform executing a buy-and-build strategy across a fragmented industry. The platform currently operates multiple founder-led businesses and is entering a period of accelerated growth through both acquisitions and organic initiatives. The business has strong early traction, a growing pipeline of acquisition targets, and a clear path to significant scale over the next 12–24 months.
This is a hands-on, build-from-scratch leadership role with responsibility for driving operational execution across the platform while simultaneously developing the systems, processes, and playbooks required to support continued expansion. The COO will work closely with the CEO and CFO as one of the three core leaders of the organization, playing a critical role in shaping the platform’s operational foundation and long-term success.
This opportunity is ideal for a high-output operator who thrives in fast-paced environments, enjoys building infrastructure from the ground up, and is excited to take ownership in a high-growth setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own day-to-day operations across multiple operating companies, ensuring execution, accountability, and performance
- Lead post-acquisition integration efforts, including development and execution of a repeatable integration playbook
- Drive operational improvements across routing, scheduling, labor utilization, and cost structure
- Implement KPI frameworks, reporting cadence, and performance management systems across the platform
- Build and standardize sales processes, pipeline visibility, and forecasting capabilities
- Identify and execute quick-win opportunities to improve margins and operational efficiency
- Partner with General Managers and field teams to improve performance and drive results
- Support hiring, development, and performance management of key leaders across the organization
- Collaborate with leadership on growth strategy, acquisition evaluation, and operational diligence
- Travel regularly to operating company locations to lead from the front and stay close to execution
Required Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in general management, operations, or senior leadership roles
- Proven P&L ownership and accountability in a multi-site or field-based business (~$15M+ scale preferred)
- Strong operational and financial acumen with a track record of driving measurable improvements
- Experience in services, construction, infrastructure, or similarly complex operating environments preferred
- Demonstrated ability to build processes, systems, and teams in high-growth or resource-constrained environments
- Experience integrating acquisitions or operating within a roll-up/platform model is highly attractive
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
Why Join:
This is a rare opportunity to step into a true operator seat at the early stages of a platform build.
The incoming COO will:
- Play a central role in scaling a multi-site business through acquisition and operational excellence
- Partner directly with an experienced leadership team while maintaining full ownership of execution
- Help build the integration playbook and operating system that will define the platform’s future
- Gain meaningful equity participation and long-term wealth creation opportunity
This role offers the chance to build, scale, and lead from the front; not inherit a finished system, but create one.
